Time to take a break

Okay it is time to take a break. Just a day or so. Time to let myself heal.

Hopefully, as I learn to measure food, I will be adding that here too.

I think I have lost some of the weight I intended to.

Heart rate monitor

Today I:

Ran 10.4 miles
went to gym:
10 minutes of stretching
20 push ups
14 pull ups
30 sit ups
20 dips

then I finished off with a quick two and a half miler.

decent distance but...I think I need to train better.

A heart rate monitor will help with that, I think...

100 mile milestone

YAY me!

Quick one

Ran 2.26 miles.

Adds up to another nine miles this week. Doing well. I am adding miles fast...

This morning

Whoa!

I had a crazy morning. Got up at 4:50 in the A of M. Pretty early.

Party, Party! Yeah!

This morning I:

ran: 4.9 miles
swam: 20 lengths
push ups: 30
sit ups: 30
extensions: 30
dips: 30
pull ups: 21
side lifts: 60 not sure what these are called. when you have a weight in one arm and you lift with your side....?
stretching: 20 minutes
plank: 3 minutes
ran: 2.56 miles

that's it. The workout for today. I have felt a bit encouraged by the 9 miler. I will see if I can add some more distance in the next few weeks.

Holy Crap!

It is working. Now that I have some goals on Nike+, I have involved myself in some challenges in general. I am very pleased. Impressed with myself.

Okay, so over Christmas I:

Dec 25: I ran 9.4 miles in 1:42:23
Dec 26: I ran 5.18 miles in 56:23
I ran 1.79 miles in 17:37

On another note, I am beginning to enjoy running more and more.

I am a bit sick right now, but running nonetheless. We shall see how it goes!

Keep exercising!

Crazy, Crazy

All time personal best for distance and length of time running.

I ran for 9 + miles today. A time of one hour forty minutes. I am so pleased with that journey. I will be mapping it out on Nike+ later today, I think. If not no big deal.

On a side note:

Merry Christmas!

I will post more updates tomorrow. Everyone out there: Have a great Christmas Workout!

Merry Christmas!

Again I broke a personal best

I ran yesterday for... one and a half miles, for a personal best on a mile. 8:23 secs. I am pretty pleased with the time. Though I was unable to run a super fast two miler after that. For the two miler I was clocking in at 8:56 per mile. Still...better than what I had been running.

Steve is back right now so I am looking forward to some hardcore workouts together.

yesterday quick run through:

Run: 1.5 miles
stretch: 20 minutes
sit ups not on fit ball: 45
sit ups with feet up in air: 30
Back extensions: 30
push ups: 45
pull ups: 17
dips: 25
run: 2 miles

so a very basic workout. The miles of running are adding up. I only need to complete a few more meters and I have received my first online trophy on nike+.

Exercising is going well.

Went to the guildford gym today

So today I went to the Guildford gym. Indoor track, weight room and no pool. Not being able to swim was a bummer but I did get to try out my new shoes for long distance straight aways. I was running some good times. An all time best two miler @ 17:42. Works out to be a little under nine minutes per mile. Doing pretty good. I even got Lance Armstrong to wish me well. Pretty wicked.

workout today:
run 1 mile
miscellaneous stretching
fit ball sit ups: 30
back extensions: 30
pushups: 45
pull ups: 18
dips: 22
finished with 2 mile run.

good workout.

plan of attack over the next days

I am so glad my being sick is over. Yep. Nothing like a healthy me. I went for three runs today. One, in the morning, the other two were to and from the gym. So maybe they don't count so much. First thing tomorrow is to run to the gym and work out.

Tonight.

plank 3 minutes
pushups 45
single leg squat 30 per leg.

runs: 1 mile in Nike Free (trying to train feet)
3.4 miles in Asics Shoes. Regular running shoes. Non training style.

Didn't eat so hot this week. Coming in at 212 lbs. A bit too much considering this week Monday I was in at 206 lbs. We shall see how the goal of hitting my mid BMI will go.

Runner + challenges:

A lot. Will post later with complete names...

Sick again

This is crap.

I hate being sick. I think I may have to go buy some drugs for my cold.

I will try to work out tomorrow no matter what. Maybe even a bit of running tonight. I haven't even left my house since I was sick. Sneezing and a bit of a head cold.

this sucks.

Sick today, no real updates

So last night, very late, I went for my fastest run. Since I have started this whole wellness thing I have been doing all sorts of things.

I broke the nine minute mile time. I am well on my way to do a 5k. I am very excited. I think I might even have a better time if I have a more level running area. Right now, surrounding my house, there is a whole lot of hills.

The Nike Free 7.0 shoes are phenomenal. They are a God send. I am uncertain as to whether or not I can keep up the six day running and five day gym schedule I have been on the last few weeks. We shall see.

No working out today. I am sick. Going to go to bed pretty quick.

It didn't didn;t work as well as I had thought

no goggles, so only treaded water for ten minutes straight.

3 minutes of plank --- completed
45 (per arm) kettle bell swings --- completed
45 push ups --- completed

I ran some of my best times ever today.

one run 9:59 /mile 1.78 miles
the other leg of run 11:16/mile 1.64 miles.

I should take this with a grain of salt.

what I ate today will also be posted later...

Hey check out

Runners Plus. this is my runner plus profile. Pretty excited.

So excited.I

I have been working out regularly since February, so...just under a year. By May I had hoped to be able to do handstand push ups. I think I will have to start practicing soon if I want to be able to do that by May...

Also, a lot of things are going crazy. I feel so excited to do almost everything today. I am feeling more energetic and am looking forward to my work out tomorrow.

Tomorrows workout:

Run 1.6 miles to gym
Swim ten laps of our pool.
10 minutes of stretching, mainly hamstrings, back and calves.
3 minutes of plank.
45 kettlebell swings.
45 pushups.

we shall see how that goes...

i think i may need to bring a journal with me. Just to see if I can beat my old personal records...

New shoes, and better times

Working out with me. Should be interesting.

I have a goal here. You see I am trying to lose thirteen or so pounds so I can be a sub two hundred person. Right now I am two hundred twelve pound person. I weight myself, everyday, on the scale at my gym. It is pretty wicked. Earlier this week I was well on my way. I had dropped to two hundred four pounds by Tuesday. But by this Sunday i had brought it back up again to two hundred twelve.

Blech. It is all a bit frustrating. So now it is time to take some of the advice I have heard. Time to regulate what I eat and work out more.

With that in mind I have purchased, not one, but two pairs of shoes. One, the Nike free 7.0 and the other some Asics dual something or others, gimme a sec...gel Kayano shoes. They are to make up for the shoes that I just had. The Air Pegasus +. the person at running room gave me the wrong type of shoes. I have the exact opposite type of problem than the original shoe they gave me. Pretty crazy, no?

Running room. Still like the store but I was a bit pissed that they cost me so much money. But what can you do. I don't really expect too much out of people these days. Especially in retail. Nothing bad intended. I received good service.
