I have only been going to the gym once a week or so.&amp;#160; Last week twice, I am hoping to correct that, and go to yoga almost every day this week.&amp;#160; We shall see how it goes.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;I have been taking bikram's yoga.&amp;#160; An interesting and very hot affair.&amp;#160; Learning about what lock your knee really means.&amp;#160; Not hyper extension but putting your knee in a tree like position.&amp;#160; With the standing leg straight and with the quadriceps &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Also, I have been considering running again.&amp;#160; We shall see about that one, though.&amp;#160; I may need more time to heal.&lt;/p&gt; My knee is now injured and I am concerned about the other parts of my body that may be affected.&amp;#160; I think the daily swimming is fine, fairly low impact, but I think I need to create a rotational type of &amp;quot;good&amp;quot; movements to help my legs and the rest of my body become par with each other.&amp;#160; I think I will have to bring my runner's world cross training book with me and include some of the crossfit training stuff I have used before.&lt;/p&gt; It is tough.&amp;#160; Yoga is super tough.&amp;#160; But I am learning.&amp;#160; Slowly but surely I am learning.&amp;#160; It looks like I may not be running for a long while.&amp;#160; Like a real long while.&amp;#160; A couple of months at least.&amp;#160; Which is too bad for me.&amp;#160; I think I have trained too hard over the last few months, without taking the required breaks I have needed to.&amp;#160; We shall see if I can fix the problem, doing squats, swimming and running in the pool.&amp;#160; my experience with the Nike+ system so far has been excellent.&amp;#160; I lost a run two weeks ago, a nine miler, so no big deal.&amp;#160; This week, though, I had a run that I thought I would lose, an eighteen mile.&amp;#160; I was a bit perturbed.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;I tried to deal with it myself, first.&amp;#160; Failing that, I checked the forums.&amp;#160; Thank goodness for the forums.&amp;#160; I found the phone number for tech support.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;I called the support line, talked to Tara.&amp;#160; She helped me through everything.&amp;#160; All I had to do was rename the .tmp file to an xml file and sync.&amp;#160; When it worked I swore in happiness: &amp;quot;Fucking eh!&amp;quot;&amp;#160; Sometimes I am a little too Canadian. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Anyway, I was impressed by the level of customer service provided and I was pleased.&amp;#160; I slept in on Thursday and in the evening I went to the gym to do a little cross training.&amp;#160; It would seem like this is going to be the best thing I have ever decided to do.&amp;#160; It adds a few little things to my routine that will, hopefully, keep me on my toes and have me moving more. Okay, maybe not moving more, but doing a wider variety of things.&amp;#160; I also think I want to try a climbing class.&amp;#160; That will certainly add to my overall health and strength.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p style="width: 436px; height: 0%"&gt;   &lt;p&gt;It is through exercise, religion, and personal peace that my life is getting better.&amp;#160; I am so glad for it.&amp;#160; I am glad for everything that is coming my way and all that will happen over the next year.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Please note that I have lost a few runs to the powers of the iPod.&amp;#160;   &lt;p&gt;     &lt;p&gt;This past weekend I had a little rest session.&amp;#160; I ran only a short distance on Saturday, fully intending to run on Sunday and I decided not to.&amp;#160; So I have a new intended schedule for the coming week.&amp;#160; Monday through Friday will all be swim/run/gym days.&amp;#160; One cross training day with no run.&amp;#160; I think it will add a little spice to the whole endeavour.&lt;/p&gt;      &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt; The running thing is becoming less of a fanaticism thing, and more of something I just do.&amp;#160; Although I am wondering how I will be able to drop my times to sub 9:00 miles.&amp;#160; I am hoping the cross training will help.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Running in the snow is great!&amp;#160; Really!&amp;#160; This morning the snow was coming down hard.&amp;#160; So much so that you could barely see the road in front of you.&amp;#160; Beautiful.&amp;#160; Initially the running was a bit difficult but as the run went on it got better and better.&amp;#160; It helped that some person stopped in their tracks to tell me that &amp;quot;you are crazy.&amp;quot;&amp;#160; I kind of smiled at that.&amp;#160; Certainly helps me with my dedication.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Today's workout was simply run, swim, stretching, push ups and sit ups.&amp;#160; It was a nice workout, I felt excellent and the run felt good.&amp;#160; There is much to be said for taking care of yourself.&amp;#160; Though I think I may need to see the physician.&amp;#160; Check out my other foot.&amp;#160;   &lt;p&gt;I am not sure if anyone ever feels this way, I am sure I am not alone, but there is so much to be said for taking a break from the exercising.&amp;#160; Working out is good, yet, everything in moderation.&amp;#160; A bit of a catch phrase there, I know, still applicable.&amp;#160; I feel a greater desire to do a little better, when I run.&amp;#160; I want to push that much harder.&amp;#160; Tonight, for example, I wanted to run at least ten miles.&amp;#160;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;As most people can see, I have been running a whole lot lately.&amp;#160; A fantastic experience.&amp;#160; I am enjoying it thoroughly.&amp;#160; Though I am beginning to think that although distance is great, speed is important too.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;So the next big deal for me is going to try and get my 1, 5, 10 miles time down between 7 and 8:30 per mile.&amp;#160; That should be an interesting experience.&amp;#160; I do some speed training now, lots of hills equals speed training, but I think I will start to take it more seriously.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;We'll see how that goes.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt; I left there weighing in at 212 lbs and now I am at 203 lbs.&amp;#160; I am pleased with this progress.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;So there have been some genuine concerns brought up by my friends.&amp;#160; For example, You seem to be running a lot, is it an addiction?&amp;#160; In a way, maybe it is, it has increased the quality of my life.&amp;#160; I am feeling better about myself and it is beginning to reflect in other ways.&amp;#160; I am slowly building up a more positive self image, which is great, and I am finding ways to communicate with others in a positive way.&amp;#160; Being able to share something positive and interesting about myself, which can begin a conversation.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;Another concern has been: &amp;quot;Are you doing this for the wrong reasons?&amp;quot;&amp;#160; Which reasons are those, you might ask?&amp;#160; Well, for starters, an obsession of self, a narcissistic attitude and an attempt to ignore the world at large.&amp;#160; Both are fair concerns, I have a lot of pride and I have a hard time hanging out with people.&amp;#160; I am finding, though, that the pride is different now.&amp;#160; Less on the physical me and more on the inside me. &lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;Ignoring the world at large.&amp;#160; That is me to a t.&amp;#160; I like the solitude of running.&amp;#160; I like the fact that you do not need a team of runners to run, you can just run.&amp;#160; Still I long to belong to something bigger than me.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;Running is doing good things to me.&amp;#160; It is soothing and it has psychological healing properties.&amp;#160; Lets just say I ran a pretty fair distance.&amp;#160; 35.65 miles.&amp;#160; Pretty far, at least for me.&amp;#160; It means, though, that I am averaging about&amp;#160; 8.9 miles per day, including today.&amp;#160; My day off.&amp;#160; Yep.&amp;#160; I am doing okay in the running department.&amp;#160; Something, though, that I am getting excited about is that I am slowly getting a beautifully shaped abdomen.&lt;/p&gt; that.&amp;#160; I hopped in the sauna first thing.&amp;#160; Stayed there for about ten minutes, talked to Gary.&amp;#160; I left my swimming goggles at home.&amp;#160; Not so hot for me.&amp;#160; At the gym I did:&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Stretching: 15 minutes&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Single leg squats: 30 each leg&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Plank:&amp;#160;&amp;#160; 3 minutes&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;pushups: 30&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Trunk twists: 40ish (I did this one until I was tired)&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;dips:&amp;#160; 20&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;I followed this all up with my finishing It was windy and it was a tough run, against the wind.  I think I need to get more clothes for running in the winter.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sigh...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Life is so hard.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I think, though that I am going to start adding the nike+ code here. Legs hit your ass, and you land.  Add weight if you are good at it. Not until recently.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I didn't believe that you could love exercising so much that it is a large portion of all you want to do.  Crazy, no?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So yesterday I went for a few miles: 9.28 i think.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No swimming, I woke up late, just a quick jaunt to the gym, but last night...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I did a five miler, just under I think with weights.  10 or so pounds with intervals.  Fun fun.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So this morning I was hella tired.  Quick run to the gym, long way so about 4.4 miles and then followed up with a 2.5 miler.  So a short day of running today. Yeah!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This morning I:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;ran:        4.9 miles&lt;br /&gt;swam:       20 lengths&lt;br /&gt;push ups:   30&lt;br /&gt;sit ups:    30&lt;br /&gt;extensions: 30&lt;br /&gt;dips:       30&lt;br /&gt;pull ups:   21&lt;br /&gt;side lifts: 60 not sure what these are called.  when you have a weight in one arm and you lift with your side....?&lt;br /&gt;stretching: 20 minutes&lt;br /&gt;plank:       3 minutes&lt;br /&gt;ran:        2.56 miles&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;that's it.  The workout for today.  I have felt a bit encouraged by the 9 miler. Now that I have some goals on Nike+, I have involved myself in some challenges in general.  I am very pleased.  Impressed with myself.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Okay, so over Christmas I:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dec 25:  I ran 9.4 miles in 1:42:23&lt;br /&gt;Dec 26:  I ran 5.18 miles in 56:23&lt;br /&gt;         I ran 1.79 miles in 17:37&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On another note, I am beginning to enjoy running more and more.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am a bit sick right now, but running nonetheless. I am pretty pleased with the time.  Though I was unable to run a super fast two miler after that.  For the two miler I was clocking in at 8:56 per mile. Indoor track, weight room and no pool.  Not being able to swim was a bummer but I did get to try out my new shoes for long distance straight aways.  I was running some good times.  An all time best two miler @ 17:42.  Works out to be a little under nine minutes per mile.  Doing pretty good.  I even got Lance Armstrong to wish me well. Yep.  Nothing like a healthy me.  I went for three runs today.  One, in the morning, the other two were to and from the gym.  So maybe they don't count so much.  First thing tomorrow is to run to the gym and work out.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tonight.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;plank 3 minutes&lt;br /&gt;pushups 45&lt;br /&gt;single leg squat 30 per leg.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;runs: 1 mile in Nike Free (trying to train feet)&lt;br /&gt;      3.4 miles in Asics Shoes.  Regular running shoes.  Non training style.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Didn't eat so hot this week.  Coming in at 212 lbs.  A bit too much considering this week Monday I was in at 206 lbs. Since I have started this whole wellness thing I have been doing all sorts of things.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I broke the nine minute mile time.  I am well on my way to do a 5k.  I am very excited.  I think I might even have a better time if I have a more level running area.  Right now, surrounding my house, there is a whole lot of hills.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Nike Free 7.0 shoes are phenomenal.  They are a God send.  I am uncertain as to whether or not I can keep up the six day running and five day gym schedule I have been on the last few weeks.  We shall see.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No working out today.  I am sick. By May I had hoped to be able to do handstand push ups.  I think I will have to start practicing soon if I want to be able to do that by May...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, a lot of things are going crazy.  I feel so excited to do almost everything today.  I am feeling more energetic and am looking forward to my work out tomorrow.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tomorrows workout:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Run 1.6 miles to gym&lt;br /&gt;Swim ten laps of our pool.&lt;br /&gt;10 minutes of stretching, mainly hamstrings, back and calves.&lt;br /&gt;3 minutes of plank.&lt;br /&gt;45 kettlebell swings.&lt;br /&gt;45 pushups.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;we shall see how that goes...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;i think i may need to bring a journal with me. Should be interesting.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have a goal here.  You see I am trying to lose thirteen or so pounds so I can be a sub two hundred person.  Right now I am two hundred twelve pound person.  I weight myself, everyday, on the scale at my gym.  It is pretty wicked.  Earlier this week I was well on my way.  I had dropped to two hundred four pounds by Tuesday.  But by this Sunday i had brought it back up again to two hundred twelve.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Blech.  It is all a bit frustrating.  So now it is time to take some of the advice I have heard.  Time to regulate what I eat and work out more.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With that in mind I have purchased, not one, but two pairs of shoes.  One, the Nike free 7.0 and the other some Asics dual something or others, gimme a sec...gel Kayano shoes.  They are to make up for the shoes that I just had. The Air Pegasus +.  the person at running room gave me the wrong type of shoes.  I have the exact opposite type of problem than the original shoe they gave me.  Pretty crazy, no?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Running room.  Still like the store but I was a bit pissed that they cost me so much money.  But what can you do.  I don't really expect too much out of people these days.  Especially in retail.  Nothing bad intended.
